I was heading back to Chicago after a whirlwind of a weekend - my college a cappella team, Illini Awaaz just placed 2nd at Gathe Raho! I got a message on Coffee Meets Bagel from Somil saying, "Hey, how was your weekend?" Lets just say - it was the perfect question that led to countless hours of conversation about friends, family, hobbies, career goals, and our values. We set a date to meet at the end of that week & I wondered if we would have the same spark when we met in real life. We had our first date in Lincoln Park walking around talking about Apple vs. Android, closing down an asian restaurant talking nonstop, and of course, hitting up our favorite bar in Chicago - untitled. At the end of that night, I knew this was the man I was waiting for. He was charming, intelligent, goofy, sweet, caring, an incredible listener, outgoing, and most importantly, someone that shared my passion of growing to be a better version of ourselves every single day. The rest...is history.

After Mira's birthday celebration, Somil decided to surprise Mira with one last gift - a trip to Paris for the week! He coordinated with her manager for her days off and made sure the entire plan for Paris was set. Mira was in awe to hear the incredible plan he managed to keep a secret from her for 5 months! She kept thinking in her mind that this may be a proposal and even asked her best friend, Hina if he was proposing during this trip. Hina was her sounding board, but did not reveal a thing. Mira packed for her flight so excited to finally visit Paris with the man of her dreams! Somil had planned a fancy brunch at the Shangri-La Hotel in Paris overlooking the Eiffel Tower that he has booked two months in advance. Mira & Somil landed in Paris Monday evening, had the best truffle tortellini at Gambino, and went to bed early as the brunch was at 8 AM! Mira had a feeling that the proposal would happen at brunch, so she took her time to look as perfect as possible. A cab drove to their destination and Somil took Mira to the Eiffel Tower to see the view at sunrise. Little did she know a photographer was there and Somil got down on one knee to ask her to marry him! She was in complete shock and squeezed him in a tight hug! The ring was so stunning and she could not stop staring! She thought, "What did I do to deserve this incredible human being to be a part of my life?!" She was grateful for everything in that moment and was radiating with happiness. Then they skipped into their happily ever after in the Tuileries Garden...
