I had a feeling that I should try online dating and my roommate told me to try Adventist Singles (Thanks Mariah!). A week after I got on the app this cute guy named Peter messaged me and we immediately clicked. I’ve never had such an instant connection with anyone before. We started texting all the time and decided we wanted to meet, so during Christmas break I drove down to Vancouver and we had our first date at Wild Tiger. We ended up spending a couple hours talking in the restaurant, but we weren’t ready for the date to end so we walked around for another hour. It was the best first date ever! I’ve never been able to talk to someone so much or so easily. Since that first date we have gone on so many fun adventures together like mountain biking and backpacking trips. The adventures have just begun!

When I decided to propose to Mindy I wanted it to be a surprise and not have her expect it. So I had to put a plan in place. We first started talking October 24th so a more expected weekend would be August 24th which I convinced her to come along to a kite festival at Long Beach. During the month of August we had a trip planned to go backpacking in the Three Sisters wilderness which was the weekend of August 17 which made it a perfect unexpected weekend. Mindy isn't the easiest person to surprise but kneeling down to adjust something on the tent on one knee and turning around and asking the question to see the surprised look confirmed it was a success that she was not expecting it!
