We met freshman year at Johns Hopkins in August 2010 in the AMR II Dorm Lounge (...or was it the SigEp basement?). For the entirety of freshman year of college, we were friendly and would talk when we saw each other in these two spots, but that was it.... Exactly one year later, on the first day of sophomore year, Eric walked into the Organic Chemistry I lecture hall, saw JLu and thought "hey, I know her and don't know anyone else... I guess I'll sit next to her". That moment sparked a friendship that turned "Eric" into "Miller" and "JLu" into "Jenny". By the time of our wedding, we will have been together for a decade! In the last 10 years, we have traveled to as far as Taiwan and Belize together. We have shared 7 apartments together but have also lived as long a distance apart as Saudi Arabia and Baltimore. We learned to budget time and money by supporting each other through 5 higher education degrees and by sharing a joint bank account for 8 years. We share our hobbies together and have been to numerous Mets/Red Wings games, infinite breweries/vineyards, and true to ourselves, we still sleep A LOT. We've been through our absolute worsts and our absolute bests together and we've come out stronger and closer after every obstacle. We know we match because we grew to match each other; we became adults together (well, kinda). Now we're getting married and we want to celebrate with everyone who has seen us through all of these various stages of our journey!
Baltimore is where we fell in love and we've always known we wanted to get married there. Plus, academics have always been a big part of our relationship. We started by studying for Orgo and Biochem together in 2012. Next we studied for and took the MCAT together in 2013. Then it was Step I, Step II, Step III. Finally, we're both doctors in our dream programs at the same hospital. So we're getting married in a library in Baltimore only 1 block away from our first apartment together and nothing could feel more perfect for us.
