Built in 1883, the Stone Arch Bridge is a beautiful part of the city, with great views of Anthony falls. It's a great place for a stroll and, occasionally, there are food trucks on site, as well! Parking in the area is metered, so carpooling is encouraged!
This one is about a 45 minute drive from the Twin Cities, but it's a nice little spot for lunch right on the St. Croix River! It's got a great view of the Stillwater Lift Bridge (you can see the bridge in one of our photos on the "Photos" page) AND if you feel like crossing another state off your bucket list, you can drive across the bridge and pop on over to Wisconsin!
If you're looking for an adorable part of town to do some local shopping, definitely check out Water Street in Excelsior! One of Mike's childhood friends owns Ace General Store -- not to be mistaken for the hardware store -- which has some really unique and interesting items, "for the modern man" as the website states! The shop next door, Golden Rule, is a great spot for shopping, as well, and might appeal more to the ladies! After shopping, there are some nice spots to grab a bite and then go for a stroll along Lake Minnetonka!
There are three Landmark Theaters in the Twin Cities area, two in Uptown and this location at 50th and France in Edina. This location has a lot of great shops and restaurants nearby. 50th and France is a a nice spot for food and shopping and has a lot of character! The location on Hennepin Ave serves cocktails and has just one theatre -- an old stage converted to a screen. Popcorn and soda, along with other food/snacks are available for purchase (sorry Denver friends, no complimentary popcorn at these locations).
Home of the Juicy Lucy, a Minnesota classic! If you're looking for a half pound burger stuffed with cheese and grilled to perfection, tossed on a fresh bun, and topped with pickles, this is the place for you! Mike used to frequent this spot with his family when he was a kiddo!
Lord Fletcher's is located right on the water at Lake Minnetonka. If you happened to drive your boat there, you can dock it right up, hope out, and grab a bite. Otherwise, you can just park your car in the lot. Patio seating is incredible... maybe bring a sweater -- the lake can create a little chill, especially in October!
