Mike and I met at a CrossFit gym in Ithaca, NY. We spent a year casually saying hi to each other and discussing the merits of the workouts when we crossed paths. After a year or so, we ended up going to dinner with mutual friends after a workout and talking over tacos and margaritas. Mike eventually worked up the courage to ask me out a few weeks later (although he forgot to get my number until three days after that). We had a nice first date-but neither of us was sure about the other yet. (I didn't feel like I knew him enough; he was scared by my "date manners" when I attempt to detail shrimp using a fork.) We both really started falling for each on our second date, where we talked for hours over chips, salsa, and Mexican food. (Mike’s previously concerns where waylaid when I inhaled an entire basket of chips in about 10 minutes.) Things have gone well since then as we have supported each other through the highs and lows of the past three years. We have started new jobs, lived together in quarantine, and moved across the country. We are looking forward to doing life together in the years to come and can’t wait to celebrate with all the important people in our lives.
