Bride
Hello everyone! I’m Mickey, I’m the bride to be. I am excited to see all of you at the wedding and meet or see you all again. A little about me for those who don’t know me. I am originally from the Seattle area and grew up there, lived there till August 2023 when I moved to Virginia Beach for my internship for my masters degree. I am currently finishing up my masters degree to become a LPC (mental health therapist) and will be graduating July 24, 2024! I love animals of all kinds. I do a lot of art and crafts in my free time. I love hiking and being outdoors when my body, schedule and weather permits. I watch lots of true crime shows and can chat up a storm about it and the psychology of it all. I can’t wait for our wedding and sealing to come. To be married for time and all eternity to Matthew is truly a blessing. I can’t wait to celebrate with you all. Thank you all for all your love and support continually through our crazy journeys together and apart.
Groom
Our dear Friends! I'm excited to share that I am the groom to an amazing woman! For those who don't know me I'm Matthew. I grew up in Herriman and Vernal Utah. I grew up with a love for the arts and animals. After high school, a time filled with theater performances and many memories. I left on a mission to the Calgary Canada Mission for two years. This was where I came to know our Savior in a way I never thought possible. I came home, worked for Hershey's and joined the Marine Corps in 2019. I was stationed in Okinawa where many unforgettable bonds were made during hot summers days to snowy winters. In 2022 I was stationed here in Virginia as an instructor. Here I have learned so much from everyone around me. For me and Mickey? Well I had almost given up on a little app called mutual. But she was one of the last ones I met before, while I didn't know it at first she was exactly who I needed. Thank you for choosing to celebrate with us. Now come join with us as we prepare to make this major next step in our lives.
Maid of Honor
My name is Cora and Mickey and I have known each other since sophomore year of high school. She switched schools but we met back up at Bellevue College in our ASL class. This is where our friendship thrived. We spent hours every week spending time together and when we both left Bellevue College, she came to Central Washington University and roomed next to me. As the years went by, we never lost contact, even if there were periods where we didn’t talk as much. She became my best friend; someone I knew I could count on no matter what was going on in life. We were there for each other through thick and thin. I am so happy that she has found her soulmate. Seeing how happy Matthew makes her gives me the relief that she finally found a good one and that she will be well taken care of. I am so excited for her to begin the next chapter of her life and to see how beautiful she will look in her wedding dress.
Maid of Honor
Hey there! My name is Halee and I have the honor of being one of Mickayla's maid of honors. I first heard about Mickayla through church, she was someone that I wanted to be friends with because I could tell how much faith she had and I aspired to have that. We officially met in 7th grade in Ms. Jarta's English class. Lucky for us, we clicked immediately. We bonded over complaining about the class, going to young women's, and coming up with secret code names for our crushes, that somehow always related to Mickayla's favorite foods. We hung out almost every single day and middle school and our bond continued to stay strong, even when we went to different high schools, different colleges, and when I moved to Michigan to pursue my Master's degree. We continue to find ways to stay close, many of which are FaceTime calls, sending each other funny videos, and finding TikTok trends for long distance besties. Mickayla will forever be the sister that I have always wanted. We have supported each other through the lowest of lows and the highest of highs and this is definitely at the top of my list.

Groomsman
Meeting Matt was like finding a gold coin in a pile of pennies. It was 2023, and I was back in the states for some Navy R&R, thanks to an injury that made me feel like a fish out of water. Seeking some semblance of normalcy, I decided to give church a shot, and there was Matt, rocking a bow tie like nobody’s business. With a grin that could light up a room, he welcomed me into the fold, sharing stories of his Marine days with a charm that made me wonder if he was auditioning for a sitcom. But what really sealed the deal was our shared love for Magic: The Gathering- a game we tackled with the intensity of Olympic athletes. From late-nigh card battles to laughing fits bordered on hysterics, Matt turned my rehab stint into a fun adventure, and I couldn’t be more grateful. So here’s to Matt and his upcoming marriage to Mickey- may their love be as magical as a perfectly played game of Magic and as enduring as our newfound friendship. Cheers to the groom, the MVP of unexpected friendships!

I have lived the past 30+ years in Redmond Washington. I have raised 7 children and a few of their friends. Only two of them live close to us. All of whom I am very proud of. I love art in about any form. I taught art in my home for 25+ years. Then I started a sewing business. Now I am back to just having fun with art again. Newest love is Mosaics.

Mother of the Groom
I grew up in Northern California, in the San Francisco Bay Area. I met my husband during high school, but he went to one of the rival high schools in another town. We moved to Utah in 1994. Growing up I had a hard time deciding on a career since there were so many things I liked to do, so I've had many careers while raising our six children. We have also been blessed with five grandchildren. My kids probably remember my many years in Boy Scouts, and helping them with their interests. I love animals and like to read, play the piano, sew, cook, garden, and do family history. I graduated with my bachelor's degree in 2022 and now work with family history as a career.
