How we Met

12.14.17

Our first date was on December 14, 2017 at Blackstrap BBQ in Revere (very ironic now that we are vegan). Pawinn picked Michelle up at her apartment in his Honda Civic Si. We found that it was so easy to talk to each other that we stayed at the restaurant until it closed and the wait staff politely asked us to leave.

Our Story

Our second date was at Pawinn’s house where we made chocolate chip cookies and got to know each other more. After that, we started scheduling dates on a regular basis and decided to make our relationship official. Our first Valentine’s Day was at a go kart track, where both Michelle and Pawinn needed a booster seat but had a good time anyways. During our first year together, we took a cooking class, attended Pawinn’s friend’s wedding, and went to a black tie charity event in Pittsburgh. Michelle also convinced Pawinn to help her host what would become their annual Halloween party. In 2019, we decided to take the next step and have Pawinn move into Michelle’s apartment by Revere Beach. We also hosted a brunch for both immediate families and were so thrilled when they got along with each other so well. Shortly after, the pandemic hit, but despite the stress and isolation of COVID-19, we made the best of it and were lucky to have each other to lean on. In 2021, we decided to upgrade to a bigger unit and move to Everett, where we were both able to comfortably work from home. As COVID numbers dropped, we were able to spend more time with both families and our close friends and enjoy our new apartment. In winter of 2023, after many months of sharing photos of cats up for adoption, we finally adopted Ava and she quickly took over our house and hearts.

The Proposal

4.22.22

In April 2022, Pawinn and Michelle decided to take a long weekend trip to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We spent the first day there taking in the ocean views, exploring the downtown area, and eating good vegan food. On the second day, Pawinn took Michelle for a walk on the beach at Wallis Sands State Park. At the end of their walk, Pawinn got down on one knee and iconically dropped his inhaler in the sand as he got out a ring and proposed. Michelle said yes! Little did Michelle know that one of Pawinn’s best friends, Eli, and his sister, Tanya, had been posing as bird watchers nearby but were actually able to capture the moment on camera. We are so excited to begin this next chapter of our lives together and can’t wait to celebrate with you!
