A truly modern meet-cute...we met on an app! We had been talking for a week or so, and set up a date in that awkward time between Christmas and New Years. Aka we were both terribly bored. We met at the Vetted Well at Alamo Drafthouse, I was 20 minutes early and Neek was 20 minutes late...he's lucky I'm patient! We had a drink, watched I, Tonya, and ate some tacos afterwards. A true Texas first date. In summary, we both swiped right and the rest is history.
Neek made it very clear that I was not to make plans for this particular Saturday, so I had a feeling what was coming. He planned the day beautifully, we got dressed up, had a delicious brunch at The Woolworth downtown, and then headed to the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge where a photographer was waiting! Before I knew it he was down on one knee and I must have blacked out because I can't remember what he said, but I'm sure it was beautiful! I said "YAS! Gimme that ring!" And we had a great giggly, tear-filled photo shoot. Later that night Neek and all of my best friends and family surprised me with an engagement party! It truly was the best day of my life...so far.
