First Kiss

September 9, 2017

After being suitemates for less than a week Michaela and Spencer were binging Disney movies in their common room. From sitting on separate couches to jokingly holding hands to a moment on which they will never agree on. Michaela claims she kissed Spencer while Spencer would say that he kissed her. That night led to a first date a few weeks later where they officially started dating on September 22nd. Although they can’t always decide which date is their true anniversary, September 9th will hold an extra special place in their hearts as their wedding anniversary and the day that their relationship began.

The Proposal

July 30, 2022

Four months prior to the big day Spencer got a call from his grandmother asking if he wanted her ring to give to Michaela when he was ready. He happily accepted this heirloom. However he knew he had to ask her father’s permission first. When he asked Tim he was met with the sarcastic remark "You don't have to ask me she's all yours, good luck." Spencer then racked his brain for how he could surprise Michaela and ask her to spend the rest of her life with him in a way that summed up their relationship. But it would be Michaela who accidentally planned part of the proposal. Michaela suggested that the two of them climb Mount Washington on a mini getaway to North Conway. Spencer immediately knew it would be the perfect location. All they had to do was climb a mountain and they would have a great view as the background to their engagement! However with only a mile to the peak the temperature started dropping quickly and it began to mist. By the time they were within a quarter mile of the peak the wind was whipping and the clouds were so thick you could barely see 3 ft in front of you. They persisted up the mountain. When they reached the top they took the classic picture with the sign to mark they had made it to the summit. Michaela was ready to go inside because it was 25℉ and hailing but Spencer insisted that she wait a minute. Confused, Michaela continued to yell through the wind that he was going the wrong way and to move out of other people’s pictures. Spencer decided since it was so cold, windy and hailing he would make his speech quick and said with all his heart "I love you" then got on one knee and showed the ring "Will you marry me?" An immediate “YES!” was followed with a “Quick! Close that box the ring is going to blow away!”
