St. Patrick's Day 2015 was a memorable one, for half of us at least, that was the night that I first laid eyes on that tall, blond, drink of water, and it was the first time he got up the courage to talk me. Let's just say that there was a lot of imbibing that night and the real love story did't start until two weeks later, but he made a lasting impression on me. When we finally ran in to each other again, I was smitten, I stayed out too late, and I demanded that Michael bring me a breakfast burrito to make up for it. He did, and I have never wanted to be without him since.
I had been bugging to go on a mini-vacation and after much pestering, Michael finally obliged. Initially we planned on going to South Lake Tahoe (big surprise), but three days before our trip we were forced to cancel due to inclement weather. Last minute, we decided to book a stay at Ocean Point Ranch in Cambria, CA, neither of us had been and it was a favorite destination of my parents. On the way there we stopped at a couple breweries in Paso Robles, and had some beers. It was one of those days where the time rolls by really slow, and for that you are incredibly thankful. When we finally made it to our hotel we had been graciously upgraded (my sneaky mom had called ahead), but Michael was in a big hurry to get to the beach so we threw our bags down and started our trek (it's a trek when you're out of shape). The wind was blowing like crazy and I couldn't stop laughing as I bounded along trying to keep up with Michael's hurried pace. Once we were finally alone and I was distracted by the remnants of a shark egg (it totally was), he got down on one knee and said... "Hey can I give you this?" I reminded him that he was supposed to ask me a different question and happily accepted. We stood there for a while soaking in the golden hour together, and to me it was the most perfect moment I could have ever imagined.
