In the bustling metropolis of New York City, where dreams and chaos intermingle, there existed a digital realm where serendipity danced with technology: Hinge, a dating app where connections are made with the mere swipe of a finger. Amidst the sea of profiles and fleeting conversations, two souls matched, and now their love story begins. Let’s recreate a moment in time. Imagine you’re sitting in the back seat of a New York City yellow cab. The windows are down, the driver is racing down Ninth Avenue towards Hudson Yards at 90 miles an hour, and he’s blasting Lil Jon’s Get Low. Michael remembers that day for the craziest cab ride he’s ever taken, and the one that took him to his first date with Sheila, which changed his world forever. Their first date was a whirlwind of laughter and shared stories. From tiny coffee shops and dessert shops to fine dining, they explored every corner of the city together. Two years later, they couldn’t be happier to invite you all to their wedding to celebrate more than two years of memories that span 16 cities across three continents. Early on, Michael took Sheila on a trip to celebrate his friend’s birthday to see Russell Peters in Atlantic City, where Sheila also learned the joys of playing blackjack and eating fried oreos. Then, the relationship progressed into a ski trip to Mont Tremblant, where Michael made an effort to ski for Sheila. Last summer, Sheila and Michael tried al pastor tacos from a car repair shop in Mexico City that was featured on Netflix’s Taco Chronicles. Fun fact for everyone: Sheila and Michael also ate ant/larvae and grasshoppers at Quintonil. There are so many additional memories, and so little time to tell you all about it… Casino hopping in Spain. Strolling through the Duke gardens. Kayaking at Central Park. Valet parking at the Beverly Hills Hotel in a rental Prius which was fully painted with ads. Wakeboarding in Jersey… And then it all culminated in a trip to Tokyo and Seoul in December 2023. Michael kept searching for a perfect place to propose throughout the day in Hakone but instead, Michael and Sheila almost got stranded at Lake Ashinoko with no way to make their spa and dinner date on time. Sheila miraculously flagged down a taxi after countless rejections. Taking this as a sign from above, Michael got down on one knee and proposed once they got back to their ryokan. Sheila said yes! Some stories are too long and, some too funny to even write down in this little blurb. And so many more stories to come! If you need to find them, you’ll find them biking around Central Park or hopping around the latest restaurants and bars in the city.
