Our Story
Michael and Lydia met at church in the fall of 2021. Besides a few very short “hellos” the couple never really talked until May 2022 when they began working at an elementary summer camp called Camp Lakewood.
On the second night of camp, Lydia was in the living room by herself, when Michael walked down to the kitchen to put his melted chocolate covered pretzels in the refrigerator. Michael saw Lydia and stopped in the living room where they ended up sharing testimony's and talking for the next 3 hours. Three months later, Michael asked Lydia to be his girlfriend at Camp Lakewood.
Over a year later, on December 13th, 2023, Lydia went to Camp Lakewood to have a “baking day” with her sisters. Around 2:30pm the sisters decided to take the kids on a walk. They walked around the camp for about 45 minutes and stopped at Vesper Hill (the worship campfire site) where Michael was waiting for Lydia so he could pop the question. Lydia of course said, “yes!”
