Unfortunately no. Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) does have rental car options, and my family has offered to pick people up if possible to help out, if flight arrival times are fairly close together. The airport is about a 25-30 min drive to the resort. This is something we can deal with when the time comes!
There is a WalMart on the corner of Summerlin and San Carlos Blvd on the mainland. This is where we always stop before heading to the island and super easy to get to. If you’re driving, feel free to bring whatever you’d like to save a stop! There is also a Publix a few minutes down the beach on Estero Blvd
Not really. Bongos Bar, Bob’s BeachBar, Audry’s gift shop, Rae’s, and the poolside ice cream shop are all room charge only! I do believe Bongos accepts cash since they do have day pass guests that aren’t staying at the resort. We do use cash to tip the omelet guy at breakfast, and the valets for helping unload luggage to rooms upon arrival.
The “downtown” Times Square area is just a short jaunt down the beach to several shops, bars, and restaurants. Parking there can kinda be a pain, so if you’re up for getting your steps in, walking is very doable! Plus, you never know what you’ll see walking the beach:)
It’s strongly recommended to get travel insurance since this is during hurricane season, however that is entirely up to you. In the event of a hurricane, Pink Shell does offer a 100% refund
No. Guests are not required to stay at the Pink Shell. If you would like to find accommodations elsewhere for whatever reason, you are welcome to do so, but everything wedding wise will be onsite at the Pink Shell:)
