This page merits an entire book, and you might consider purchasing a guidebook. Fodor's, The Lonely Planet, and The Ultimate Guidebook all publish guides specific to the Big Island. The Big Island has nearly every climate zone, and runs the spectrum from simple to sophisticated in terms of activities for you. The Pacific and the Kilauea Volcano are focal points. Great beaches are numerous, and snorkeling is very good in limited locations, though the waters may be choppy during the Holiday Season. Blue Water fishing is available, though winter is the off season for the best bite. Day trips to view endangered species, particularly some stunning birds, can be arranged. Volcanoes National Park has re-opened and worth a visit if you have not been near a volcano. There is no shortage of other activities both on and off the resort. Michael and Kim have visited the Big Island several times and would be happy to chat with you. Start by calling Michael at 906.250.3589.
