Michael and Joy were both raised in Phoenix, Arizona. Joy the daughter of Edward Dancy and Linda Dancy, attended Millennium High School. Michael the son of the late Molly Lasswell, Ann Marie and Steve Lasswell attending Brophy College Preparatory. Both Michael and Joy went on to attend the University of Arizona where they first met. Michael and Joy were introduced at a party, Joy a Junior and Michael a sophomore. Sparks flew and after a few months of dating, Michael and Joy became a couple on April 18, 2015. This is an anniversary date they will continue to celebrate. From there, after finishing college and taking a two-year gap working, Joy attended the University of Hawaii earning her second bachelor's degree in Nursing. Michael moved to Denver, Colorado and attended Regis University where he earned his master's in Organizational Psychology. During this time, Michael also met and connected with his wonderful mother Monica Laudermilk and her husband David Laudermilk. They spent that time living together and meeting all of his family. After finishing nursing school in Hawaii, Joy moved back to Arizona and the pair relocated to North Phoenix together in 2019. In March of 2020, the world took a turn and COVID-19 pandemic emerged. Joy was working as a nurse on a COVID-19 unit and contracted covid-19 early on. Michael was there to take care of her and together they helped each other get through this difficult time. On June 18, 2022, Michael proposed to Joy on Shell Beach in San Diego, California. She gladly and excitedly accepted, and now we are here.
