Michael and Jacqui met on a dental outreach trip to the Philippines. Days were filled with dental work at the local school's makeshift clinic and nights were filled with game nights, piling into one hotel room to play spoons on "megabed". Once back in the states, an Outside Lands kiss led to the first official date that took place at Church of Eight Wheels. After that, the rest is history.

If you didn't already know, one of Michael's greatest passions is photography, so it was a normal thing for Michael to ask Jacqui to do a tripod photo shoot in Tahiti after a treacherous hike. Michael hinted to Jacqui to put on a nice outfit, but having no idea a proposal was coming Jacqui refused as she was tired from a long day of hiking straight up one of the island's razor back ridges. Mid tripod shots, Michael asked the question and afterwards they enjoyed celebratory beers and pizza-- a perfectly them proposal :)
