After talking to Hollen on the phone a few times during my calls with Miranda, I would always ask “How’s Hollen? When can I meet her?”. Years went by, and while attending the Kenny Chesney concert in 2018, Miranda, called me and said that she was pretty close to my seats and asked if I wanted to meet up. I was a little hesitant, but once she told me she was with Hollen, I instantly made my way to them. When I got to their seats (15 rows behind ours) I saw Hollen, who was clearly on a date. Two things went through my mind: 1) I can’t believe how gorgeous she is, and 2) How can I divert her date so that I can get her number? I just went for it. I told her that I had waited three years to meet her and I wasn’t going to wait any longer. I asked for her number. I spent most of the night looking back and staring at her, and even mentioned how much better this concert would be next year when she would be with me. Afterward, Hollen still made me endure three more months of talking/texting before she would agree to our first date at the Committee Restaurant in Boston. After that date, I was convinced that I had been on my last, first date with anyone. We spent the next few months having lunch dates and seeing each other as much as we could. Eight months later we bought our first house together, and with the help of our friends and family, I was able to pull off a surprise proposal at the top of Mount Sunapee (Hollen’s happy place) in October, 2019.
