Our paths crossed many times when we were younger, but we never really connected until a few years ago. It wasn't until we ended up on a kayaking trip set up by Michaels younger sister, Sarah that we really had a chance to talk and get to know one another. During the time we spent floating down the creek, we both knew this was someone special. We went on a few more dates and the conversations and connection grew stronger. It wasn’t long before we officially met each others families and the rest is history!
From the beginning, Michael and I have made it a goal to visit all 50 states. One weekend, we decided to cross another state off and take a trip up to Michigan to visit Mackinac Island. I insisted we bring our puppy at the time, Nelly with us on this adventure. We had planned to take a ferry over to the island in the morning to ride bikes around the island, but for some reason Michael wanted me to wear a nicer dress. I agreed knowing we were going to take some pictures. We asked a native on the island to capture a photo of us visiting the island together for the first time and when I turned, Michael was down on one knee and holding a box. It was the easiest yes I have ever said.
