Stephens Gap Callahan Cave Preserve, Alabama. Delaine and Michael arrived at this cave, on the same day, through the work of mutual friends. The light in the cave is gorgeous, making it a favorite spot for photographers and rappellers alike. Delaine's friend, Athena, wanted to capture the beauty of this place before moving to Seattle. Athena's coworker, Carl, was enlisted to help make this rappelling adventure happen. Carl invited his climbing friends, one of whom was Michael. Throughout the day, Michael and Delaine kept ending up on their own. Walking and talking in the crevices of the cave. Attempting to gather firewood for the group but "getting lost" along the way to look at and admire the stars. Michael shared homegrown tomatoes with Delaine and a very helpful hand when it was her turn to rappel into the cave. Delaine shared about the book she had been reading and Michael took the same book out of his bag. The rest is history!
