We are hoping that the state of the world has improved enough to have our ceremony at Salve Regina with our immediate family and bridal party on our originally planned date (7/11/20). While we are sad that we will not be able to share the day with all of you, we are maintaining a positive outlook and reminding ourselves that we are lucky to have such a supportive family who is healthy and that we have each other. We will share photos here when we have them.
An unplugged ceremony is a ceremony in which we ask that guests leave their phones and cameras in the car or shut them off for the duration of their time at Salve Regina (from Processional to Couple’s exit). We will be getting married during a mass, which is a sacred event, and we want everyone present in the moment without the distraction of technology. Don’t worry we will have professional photographers and videographers documenting the day and will share all the beautiful photos with you! You may power up and use your phones at the reception. Thank you in advance for your cooperation ❤️
As the ceremony is unplugged, we ask that no cell phones or cameras be used during the ceremony and therefore no photos be posted of the ceremony. However, you can feel free to snap photos and videos at the reception and we ask you post using the hashtag #MascariEverAfter so we can see all the great memories! Also feel free to enjoy the photo booth and post those as well! We understand and appreciate that you would like to take pictures to remember our special day. However, while you are taking pictures, please be courteous of our photographers and videographers. Please refrain from stepping in front of a photographer or using too much flash, as this can disrupt the professional photographs.
Please RSVP by June 1st, 2020 by using the RSVP tab on this website. (Available May 2020) Please note that hotel room blocks will be held at reduced group rates only until May 29th, 2020. So be sure to check the travel tab for more information.
Please arrive with enough time to allow time for parking and seating. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4pm. All guests should be seated by 3:50pm.
Our wedding is strictly RSVP only, we ask that only individuals named on the invitation attend our wedding as that is all we will be able to accommodate.
While we love children, we have decided to make this an adult only event. We ask that you please get a babysitter to care for the children and come enjoy the wedding with us.
Absolutely, please let us know on the RSVP page if you have an allergy or dietary restriction.
We hope that our wedding will be a fun excuse to wear your favorite cocktail attire! Some suggestions for your convenience include summer suits for gentleman and colorful cocktail or tea length dresses for ladies. Please keep in mind that we will be getting married in July, and while there is often an ocean breeze, the cocktail hour will take place outdoors so plan accordingly.
Guests may use Uber or Orange Cab if they prefer not to drive to the ceremony or reception. Please note that the venue locations are no more than a 10-15 minute drive from each other and the Middletown hotels.
There is approximately an hour between the ceremony and cocktail hour. The bridal party and immediate family will be taking photos nearby. During this time, we suggest that guests take in the beauty of Salve Regina or stop by 7/11 and enjoy a free slushie before the party.
You may park anywhere at Salve Regina, including lots marked permit parking only. We recommend parking on the street across from the chapel or in the lot directly across the street. The reception has a large parking lot available as well.
We are just thankful that our guests have made the trip to celebrate with us! However, if you wish to bring a gift we are registered on Amazon and Bed, Bath & Beyond. You can find a link under the Registry tab on the website. Thank you!
We have reserved blocks of rooms at local hotels. Please see the travel tab for further information. There is a two night minimum on the island for hotel stays so come Friday night and enjoy the area. There is so much to enjoy, take a look at the “things to do” page. Airbnb or hotels close by but off the island may also be an option for those guests that cannot, or prefer not to, stay for 2 nights.
The wedding party will be spending some time at a local bar Friday evening and guests are welcome to stop by and say hello! Further information will be available after invitations go out. Any additional events will show on your RSVP page with the relevant details. Simply input your name and the list will appear.
There is so much to do and see in Newport and you will be visiting during peak season! We have compiled a list of our favorite places and restaurants that can be found in the “things to do” tab but you really can’t go wrong with any of the options on the island!
Questions should be directed to Lizz, the maid of honor, or Matt, the best man, they are happy to answer any questions you may have.
