Back at the end of 2022, I went to visit the young adult group at Genesis Church. After only seeing about four cars in the parking lot, my social anxiety took over and I drove right back home. After explaining this to my mom upon my arrival, she says, "Melody!! Your future husband could've been one of those cars!!" To which I replied, "Mom! I HIGHLY doubt that!" I'm sure you can see where this is going haha Fast forward a few months and I am visiting the young adult group at Genesis once again, this time with my cousin. Just as I had expected, it was extremely small (we were the 9th and 10th people in the group that night). As we were standing around waiting to start, in walks Micah. In full honesty, I thought he was very attractive and I was anxious to see what kind of personality was going to come out. Much to my disappointment, he barely said two sentences the entire night! So, naturally, I went home and made sure to inform my mom that she was wrong, my future husband was not there. However, I did enjoy the community there and was looking forward to continuing to go. Much to my surprise, two months, one misunderstanding, and one group hike later and I was going on a date with this man. Quickly, his thoughtful and humorous personality started pouring out of him! Within two weeks, I knew I was falling in love, and within two months, I knew I was going to marry him! It has been a fast but intentional journey filled with the Lord's peace and confirmation.
