Alyssa means so much to me - she is my best friend, my sister, and one of the pillars that upholds my being. While Alyssa and I suffer the detriment of being long-distance best friends, I have never felt disconnected from her because we hold such a strong bond that is rooted in our childhood. "Wassup everyone! My name is Julia Macabuhay. I've known Alyssa since our freshman year of high school and she was my very first friend there. We were on our freshman service day, she asked if she could eat lunch with me and we sat next to each other without saying more than a few words. And ever since that day she's been my best friend and one of my favorite people. When I graduated high school in 2018, I went to college at UC San Diego. There, I majored in Psychology and minored in Ethnic Studies. I was also a student athlete for the Women's basketball team for 5 years. After graduating in 2023, I moved back home to LA and I'm now coaching at La Salle HS on the girls basketball team. A few fun facts about me. "One thing about me, I’m always down for adventure! Mine and Alyssa’s adventure started the summer before her freshman year of high school, on the basketball team. I was instantly drawn to her fearless, charismatic nature and her fun spirit. What started off as pranks during basketball practice (sometimes punishable by our coach’s version of suicides, a “626”), turned into midnight taco runs, scenic movie nights out of my car trunk, or ditching last period for pool hopping and taquitos.
