Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Merissa Kringen and Erik Thone
Here are a few of Merissa and Erik's favorite spots (mostly for eating and drinking) downtown. If you're staying downtown near the reception venue, all the food options should be within easy walking distance. If you're looking to kill an hour between the ceremony and reception, there are several great options to grab a beverage right across the street from Monick Yards.
Falls Park

Falls Park

131 East Falls Park Drive, Sioux Falls, SD 57104

The falls in Sioux Falls...enough said.

Brix Wine Bar

Brix Wine Bar

330 South Main Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104

Merissa and Erik's go-to spot downtown and where they had their engagement party the night he proposed. Great wine and pizza, offering high quality gluten free crust. If you visit, be sure to say "hello" to Hank who always takes great care of you.

The Treasury at Hotel on Phillips

The Treasury at Hotel on Phillips

100 North Phillips Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104

Erik and Merissa's first date. A cocktail bar located in the Hotel on Phillips, the Treasury is in the old bank vault which is kind of cool. If looking for the best cocktail, however, go to the Highball or Carpenter Bar instead.

R Wine Bar & Kitchen

R Wine Bar & Kitchen

322 East 8th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57103

R Wine Bar, Covert, Monks, and Highball are all right across the street from the reception venue. Erik and Merissa celebrated their 3 month and 1 year anniversary at this favorite spot.

Covert Artisan Ales & Cellars

Covert Artisan Ales & Cellars

434 East 8th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57103

Brewery recommendation #1. Right across the street from the reception venue: a favorite spot for more adventurous brews (though they do a nice hazy IPA). Erik and Merissa like it because they also brew their own seltzers.

Monk’s Ale House

Monk’s Ale House

420 East 8th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57103

Another spot right next to the reception venue. Vast beer list and great flatbread pizzas.

Highball Bar

Highball Bar

440 East 8th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57103

Best cocktail menu in town (in Merissa and Erik's not so humble opinions). Right across from the reception venue.

Sanaa's Gourmet Mediterranean

Sanaa's Gourmet Mediterranean

401 East 8th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57103

Fabulous Mediterranean food right by the hotels. It's only open for lunch.

Fernson Downtown Brewery

Fernson Downtown Brewery

332 South Phillips Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104

Downtown brewery recommendation #2: expansive list of brews, a solid food menu, and a coffee shop.

The Breaks Coffee Roasting Co.

The Breaks Coffee Roasting Co.

311 East 12th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57104

Probably the best coffee shop in the city.

WoodGrain Brewing Co.

WoodGrain Brewing Co.

101 South Phillips Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104

Brewery recommendation #3. If you're looking for a full brewery crawl, make this your third stop (after Covert and Fernson).

M.B. Haskett

M.B. Haskett

324 South Phillips Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104

Nicer option for breakfast/brunch downtown. Looking for traditional diner fare? Try the Phillips Ave Diner.

Washington Pavilion

Washington Pavilion

301 South Main Avenue, Sioux Falls, SD 57104

The Washington Pavilion includes a number of art galleries, a science museum, and a planetarium.
