Meredith and Carson first met in 2019 while working in the Emergency Department at High Point Medical Center. Meredith had just finished PA school and was starting her first job out of school as a PA in the ED. Carson was already an established nurse in the ED. At first, Carson thought Meredith was a student when he first saw her. He asked around and found out she was a new full time PA in the ED. He started to make casual conversation with her in the hallways and would try to work in similar assignments in order to be able to talk to her more. One day, they were talking about music and what they listen to on their drives home from work. Carson wrote down the name of a music artist on a piece of paper, Tyler Childers. Meredith listened to Tyler Childers on the way home from work and fell in love with his music. Fast forward a few months. The world is facing a global pandemic with COVID-19. Carson and Meredith are scheduled to work in the COVID tent together. They spent many days gearing up in PAPRs and PPE, seeing COVID patients day in and day out. They started spending their "down time" listening to music and playing Mario Kart on the Switch. Then, the couple started texting and decided to meet up at Carson's friend's house to hangout. Through their love for medicine, dogs, wine, legos, board games, gardening and travel, the couple immediately hit it off. And the rest is history. Meredith still has the piece of paper with Tyler Childers name written on it and they have now been to see him perform at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado.
