Rob and Angela are excited to join together in marriage after already traveling through life at mack speed over the past seven years together. They met in the same year Angela was starting her nonprofit Valerie's House. Who would have ever guessed the year 2016 would be the start of so many incredible adventures. Rob and Angela actually had their first date on the very same day they are getting married, September 17th. Rob being his sentimental self, believed that they had to do it on this day. When Angela and Rob met in 2016, Angela had just barely been back in her hometown of Fort Myers, Florida, after being gone for almost 20 years since she graduated high school. Angela was back home with the dream of starting a special place for grieving children like she once was. Rob grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts, but often spent family vacations in Venice, Florida visiting his grandmother. He grew up a University of Florida Gator fan ( in addition to every Boston team of course). He never thought he would end up marrying a UF graduate all those years later. Rob made the move to Florida in 2013 at about the same time Angela was moving back. Rob has spent the past twenty years as a Golf Professional and his dream was to manage a course in Florida. His career took him to Angela's hometown. And the rest is history. Well not exactly. When Angela and Rob met, there were a lot of hurdles in the way. Angela was knee deep in building her nonprofit from the ground up, and Rob was busy working his way up in the very competitive golf industry. Even with his busy schedule, Rob made it a point to go through the Valerie's House volunteer training a few months after he met Angela, and became one of the first ever Valerie's House group support buddies, working with the children. Rob stayed a Valerie's House volunteer for three years, and it was during the times when Angela and Rob were leading a group helping children, that the two began to fall in love. Rob always made the kids laugh, even when they were hurting, and Angela couldn't resist this fun and loving side that made her also laugh. After two years of dating, Rob proposed to Angela in front of his family and friends and Angela's family in a surprise proposal at his 40th birthday party on Fort Myers Beach. Giving Angela the ring his grandmother wore for almost 50 years of marriage before she passed away, the gorgeous vintage ring is a family heirloom that Angela feels honored to wear. Through the last seven years together, Angela and Rob have been through their share of trials. From living together through a pandemic, Valerie's House's astronomical rise in growth, and a devastating hurricane, Rob and Angela have stayed bonded through it all. Maybe the years of staying together could be attributed in part to Rob's stress relief by letting loose on the comedy stage. It was Angela's suggestion that Rob find a "hobby" in 2019, when she could see he was getting bogged down with work. She thought it might be working out or bike riding he chose to pursue, however it ended up being stand up comedy. Who would have guessed? (Those who have known Rob the longest are likely in no way surprised.) Rob won his first competition his first time on the stage and has been making audiences laugh all over the state of Florida and even at a few clubs in New England ever since. Rob, Angela, and beloved German Sheppard Quinzee ( named after his home town), are looking forward to this next phase in their life as a married couple. They are honored and excited to have you with them as they begin this new adventure. With love and gratitude, Angela and Rob
