We met at NB&C, where we both worked, and didn’t think much of it at first. Then I (Melissa) found myself in need of a strong back to help me move a dining room table to my condo. Well, if you’ve met Erik, you know he’s a bit of a stud, and ALWAYS willing to help out a soul in need. He offered his truck, I later invited him to a reunion with a bunch of friends, and that, as they say, was the beginning of “us”! It just clicked. Erik says he knew from the very beginning, while I was thinking, “Okay. This could be something.” Obviously he was right, cuz we were soon dating, and thought we were soooo slick keeping our romance a secret.......but everyone in the office had been cheering for us all along!
On the anniversary of our first date, after a romantic dinner in the city, we went back to our favorite picnic spot on Gambles Hill. He was walking behind me down the brick pathway leading to the Hill. When I turned around, he was down on one knee holding up the ring, cheezy grin on his face! I leaned in closer to get a better look at the ring, and said YES!!! And we were engaged. (He might be slightly hard of hearing in that ear now!) We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Richmond!
