My Hero! I attended a birthday party out in Newport Beach. We were all at a bar together when I noticed that I was surrounded by a group of guys I did not know and I was unable to get away from them. I became frightened so I sent a text message to my friend, “Help me!” At that time, she was having a conversation about me with Zach. She told him I needed help so he pushed his way through the crowd and pulled me away. He stayed with me the remainder of the evening to make sure I was okay. The next day we began texting each other and had our first date on August 16, 2015. The rest is history.

Christmas Day 2019. I wanted a Christmas where both our families could be together at one place. At the request of his parents, Zach invited my dad, mom and sister to his house for Christmas dinner. Upon our arrival, we greeted family/friends and Zach came to me and said, "Let's open our gifts to each other before dinner." We went downstairs and he began opening his gift. He then slid this large box in front of me. Inside the box were several gifts. He gave me watermelon candies, a fidget spinner, a spa gift card and a t-shirt, all of which were purchased from the airport terminal gift shops. I was a bit confused but was told to keep digging. At the very bottom under all the tissue paper was another gift. As I was opening it I figured it was a picture frame. As I turned it over, it was the black/white photo I took of us on our first New Year's eve. I then noticed the printing toward the bottom of the photo, "Will you marry me?" I looked over at Zach as he was on one knee with the ring. With all the emotion I was feeling, I held back my tears and responded with a "Yes."
