It's Getting Closer!!

As Robert and Melissa grew up in the 90s they had no idea how their lives paralleled being within an hour of each other most of their lives. They both grew up surrounded by corn fields, watching/playing football, basketball, and baseball, going to the Selinsgrove Speedway, and so much more. Robert played against Mark Gunter, Melissa's older brother, in quite a few sports. Come college years Robert attended WVWC, not knowing an hour North of him Melissa was attending Marietta College in Ohio. They used the same Walmart and stopped at the same mall in Parkersburg WV. So many passing moments where the two could have met but didn't for nearly 3 years in college. Fast forward just a few years, Robert was working in Mount Carmel and Melissa just an hour away in Williamsport, finally, the two would meet. On a blind date Robert planned in July 2019, they played mini-golf, had dinner, and hugged as they both headed home. On 8/7/2019, Robert asked Melissa to be his girlfriend. As their dating continued, Robert met Connor, Melissa's son, and the three became an inseparable trio. In July 2020 the two were cleaning their home expecting visitors, and Robert turned down the lights and stood out on the back porch. Realizing the lights were off Melissa searched the house for Robert. She found him on the back porch acting very odd. As She approached he started to ramble, then he got down on one knee and asked for her hand. He could barely open the box or keep from tearing up. As Melissa said YES he lept up to hug her and finally opened the ring box. This was the start of their forever. As they look forward to the upcoming wedding, it is the start of their lives no longer running parallel each other's but instead intertwining and growing together as one family.
