We met online; as both of us have a busy schedule, we don't get the chance to go out much. Although it was an unconventional way of meeting someone, it worked out well for us. Our plan was to have breakfast together; even if the meeting potentially didn't go as planned, we would still have had the most important meal of the day. On my way to breakfast, I received a call from Evan. He told me he couldn't stay long and suggested we reschedule our meeting. I decided to proceed with my breakfast plans and told him I was already on my way. I'm glad he didn't cancel because, at the time, I wasn't too worried about meeting him, and I wouldn't have rescheduled our meeting. After all, we were online dating and had never met each other before, so there was no attachment. Now, I am glad he decided to join me. When we first met, we both knew there was something special about our meeting. We spoke briefly about the reasons why he had to reschedule. He shared that he was selling his house at the time. I felt so comfortable around him and decided to go with him to his house to meet up with a potential buyer. As the buyers walked through the house, I decided to "help him out" and speak as if I lived there for many years with him. It was fun and funny; I remember he would walk by and wink at me (I love it when he does that). Long story short, from then on, we made sure we hung out as much as we could. Now I am about to be Mrs. Fields, and I still get butterflies around him.
When we first started talking she seemed nice and we got along good. We finally decided to meet up one morning for breakfast. I had just put my house up for sale and I got a message from someone that morning asking if they could come see the house early that afternoon. I wanted to clean up a little before they came and I asked Melissa if I could reschedule. I could tell she wasn't happy about it (she has never been good at hiding that), so I decided not to cancel. When we met up we got along great. We talked about our future goals and I told her I wanted to start an MS foundation one day and she told me she had MS. I think that is when she decided she wanted to see where things go. I told her I still needed to cut things short because I had to go clean the house and asked her if she wanted to come (I wanted to show her I wasn't lying). When we got to the house she asked if there was anything she could help with. I accepted the offer and said she could vacuum if she wanted. I have still never lived that down. When the people got there to look at the house she pretended that we had been together for a long time, even mentioning that she had almost fallen down the stairs to the basement several times. It was cute. Since then we have never looked back.
