Most people’s love story begins the day they meet. Ours starts the day before. I (Melissa) had been talking with one of my best friends (and now Matron of Honor) Hannah, processing the many woes of dating, which was a common occurrence for many years. Later that evening, she sent me a thoughtful and intentional text praying that God would give me a spouse, and soon! Little did we know how soon it would be. I went to bed that night praying her prayer for myself. The next morning, I opened one of my dating apps and—lo and behold—there was a Triple B. For those who don’t know, three crucial B’s have long guided my search for a husband: Big, Bearded, Believer. I could tell he was tall, loved Jesus, and he had a great beard. In other words, he was worth a message! After not hearing back for several hours, I texted my friend Julie how frustrating it was when you message someone and they don't reply, especially when you think there's real potential for a connection! A few hours after that, I received a response from Anthony and texted Julie, “Nevermind.” We pieced together later that Anthony had only decided to create his profile on a whim that morning, just an hour or two before I messaged him and roughly only eight hours after I had been praying so specifically for a husband. He made the rookie mistake of paying for a three-month subscription, because it turns out he only needed one day. We wish we could individually tell everyone all of the big and small ways God has made himself clear in our story from the very beginning—and before! And we can’t wait to celebrate this with YOU, our closest family and friends. God has been faithful to us in so many special ways, including through our relationships with each of you throughout the different seasons of our lives. We want our wedding to be a celebration of this as well. So, we hope you can make it to the party we’re throwing down south this fall!
