Despite having mutual friends for close to a decade, our paths didn't cross until May 2016. Our friends, Beth & Dave Donahoo, were hosting a party because our mutual friend, Peter McGoldrick, was visiting from Denver. When Peter visited again a few months later, we had another opportunity to spend some time together over $1 Red Bull vodka slushies at Stalking Horse.

Melissa asked Pat to be her date to her friend, Katie Kloss's, wedding.

Pat distracted Melissa with popcorn and a rom-com on a rainy Saturday afternoon while a team of stealthy friends and family transformed our apartment with pictures, lights, decorations, and rose petals. As soon as we walked in to the apartment and saw that the scene was set, we both started crying. Once the ring was on Melissa's finger, we went outside onto the balcony to celebrate. On the street below, our family and friends were waiting below with signs that said "SAY YES!" and balloons. We spent the rest of the weekend celebrating with our family and friends.
