Head to VooDoo Donuts or Blue Star Donut for a touristy start to your day, then explore Powell's City of Books, stop for a local beer flight along the Brewery Blocks, or stop at one of the many McMenamin's local restaurants
Walk through this funky part of town spilling with restaurants, notable dessert shops (Blue Star Donuts + Salt & Straw), victorian houses converted into retail stores, and plenty of people-watching!
Walk, run, bike, (even Segway) along the beautiful Willamette River. You'll get a great view of all the bridges connecting the two banks of the city (one is walkable for pedestrians). Kayaking along the river is also an option, you'll be in the company of crew teams like the one Drew joined.
If you have a rental car or want to book a tour outside of the city, definitely look into the Willamette Valley wine region for its famous Pinot Noir. (Whites are also amazing)
Portland is known as the Rose City for good reason. Other outdoor spaces we love include Washington Park, Japanese Botanical Gardens, Cathedral Park, and Sauvie Island.
