Early October, 2014, after Mindy (Twirls) completed her thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail, she called up her old buddy, Ali for a long overdue visit. Ali made mac and cheese and salad. It was great! Also in attendance were two handsome young men, BFFs, strangers to Mindy. One in particular caught her attention. It was Ali's roommate, Fin! After probing mutual friends for relationship status and learning of his availability, the chase was on. Over the next weeks she used her friends Ali and Cait to get closer to Fin. At the Rad House Halloween party Fin went as the angel that he is, so naturally, Mindy donned the sparkly devil horns and did everything in her womanly power to draw attention to herself from across the party. She arranged local hikes with Ali and casually invited Fin along, paying more attention to Ali in her attempt to act cool. Also, because, well, it's Ali. Finally, Mindy was invited to Fin's 30th birthday party (okay maybe she invited herself) on November 7th at Great Scott and Ali was sick, leaving Mindy to her own devices. The band was okay. Fin and Mindy danced by themselves near each other a little and shouted pleasantries at other friends who joined for the event. The real deal sealer came late-night on the Rad House porch, when Fin played and sang a solo performance of, "I don't want to live on the moon" for Mindy, you know, Ernie's song from Sesame Street? That's when Mindy finally understood the crush was mutual, and the rest is history!
