Nous nous sommes rencontrés sur un bateau de plongée sous-marine en Phiket, Thaïlande. Mehdi a rejoint Leah à Chaing Mai vers la fin des vacances de Leah où ils ont loué une Vespa, ont passé la journée dans un lac voisin et ont réalisé qu'il y avait plus ici que des étrangers en voyage. We met on a scuba liveaboard boat in Phuket, Thailand. Mehdi rejoined Leah in Chaing Mai towards the end of Leah's holiday where they rented a Vespa, spent the day at a nearby lake, and realized there was more here than traveling strangers.

Mehdi a rendu visite à Leah en juin 2019 pour un road trip sur la côte californienne qui a encore alimenté l'étincelle allumée en Thaïlande. D'octobre 2019 à mars 2020, Mehdi a vécu avec Leah et ses colocataires à Long Beach, en Californie. Ils ont fait de nombreux voyages le week-end et ont immergé Mehdi avec les amis et la famille les plus proches de Leah. Avant de partir soudainement en mars 2020, Mehdi a demandé au père de Leah sa main en mariage. Mehdi visited Leah in June of 2019 for a road trip up the coast of California that further fueled the spark ignited in Thailand. From October 2019 - March 2020, Mehdi lived with Leah and her roommates in Long Beach, California. We took many weekend trips and immersed Mehdi with Leah's closest friends and family. Before leaving suddenly in March 2020, Mehdi asked Leah's father for her hand in marriage.

Nous avons décidé de demander un visa de fiancé et avons reçu l'approbation finale en mai 2021. Tout au long de l'année, nous nous sommes rencontrés en Croatie et en Macédoine du Nord. We decided to pursue a Fiance visa and received final approval in May 2021. Throughout the year apart, we met up in Croatia and North Macedonia.

En raison du type de visa que nous avons demandé, nous devions nous marier dans les 90 jours suivant l'arrivée de Mehdi en Amérique. Le 4 août, nous avons rencontré de la famille et des amis dans une ville de montagne. Leah a passé de nombreux week-ends d'enfance à explorer. Même si nous sommes officiellement mariés, nous pensons qu'une véritable célébration avec toute notre famille et nos amis ajoutera ce petit plus d'officialité dont nous avons besoin pour démarrer notre vie ensemble ! Because of the type of visa we applied for, we had to get married within 90 days of Mehdi coming to America. On 4 August, we met up with some family and friends in a mountain town Leah spent many childhood weekends exploring. Even though we are officially married, we feel a true celebration with all our family and friends will add that extra bit of officiality we need to kickstart our life together!
