Whiskey Row is full of some of Prescott's oldest history. This street is named Whiskey Row because of the large number of saloons in one place. It is a historic section of Prescott occupied by authentic, Old West saloons established during the time of the early gold rush; a culture that drew all kinds of settlers, cowboys, prospectors, bawdy girls, gamblers, and even outlaws to the town. And though present-day Prescott is far less wild these days, it still celebrates its history with annual shoot out events on this very block.
Commonly known as Arizona’s oldest saloon, Palace on Prescott’s Whiskey Row has been serving drinks and meals since 1877. This stopped briefly in 1900 after a fire destroyed most of Whiskey Row, except for the patrons’ beloved mahogany bar. They have the best onion rings!!!
