Postponing Due To COVID-19

But rest assured, when it's safer to do so, we will party!

We have decided to postpone our reception given the ongoing corona-virus pandemic. We will now plan to celebrate with you on November 20th, 2021 at Belvoir Winery! Notices will also be going out in the mail soon. We will still be getting married on 9/26/2020, but it will now be a small ceremony held in Washington state, where we currently live. We will be livestreaming the ceremony via zoom. Please see the events page for the link. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding. We hope you are staying healthy, and cannot wait to celebrate our marriage with you!

The Cheesecake Incident

AKA Our Meet-Cute

It was September of 2012, and Megan and Cameron were getting settled into their Freshman year at Mizzou. They lived on the same floor in Hatch Hall, but did not meet until the birthday of Audrey Case (bridesmaid). Megan bought a cheesecake for the occasion (because you could do that with meal points), and word got around that there was free cheesecake in the lounge. Cameron, never one to pass up free food, paused How I Met Your Mother and headed to the lounge. To his immense disappointment, all the cheesecake was gone. However, in retrospect it was okay because it's how he was introduced to Megan. Megan counts herself supremely fortunate to have gotten to both eat cheesecake and meet her future spouse.

"Can You Get This Lid?"

The Proposal

During a grocery run, Megan decided to support her gut health and buy a huge jar of sauerkraut (like, the thing was massive). That evening, she struggled mightily to open the jar. Hand exhausted and cramping, she interrupted Cameron playing video games with "the boys" for assistance. Cameron immediately dropped what he was doing to aid his hungry girlfriend. The jar proved a tricky beast for even Cameron's masculine wiles, resulting in 20 minutes of problem solving and a trip down to the car for tools. On the way back to the apartment, tools in tow, Cameron decided no matter how long it takes, he was going to get this jar open for Megan. He would happily open any metaphorical jar, by any means necessary for this girl. Even mundane tasks like opening jars were special moments with her, and he was excited about a lifetime of these little moments. After heroically defeating the jar, Cameron left Megan to her kraut. He fetched a small box from it's hiding place, and asked Megan if she would like a full-time jar opener for the rest of her life. She happily accepted.
