Like many young couples, we met through a dating app. When Alex asked Meg, "What's something I should know about you?" She said: "I'm always punctual!" She was 5 minutes late to the first date. Our first date was 4 hours long because we couldn't stop talking. We consider our first date as our anniversary because we both knew then that we wanted to be together for a very, very long time.
In the spring of 2023, Meg was on her surgery rotation, which required 4 am wake-ups and busy weekends studying for exams. Because she was so busy, she was hardly suspicious when Alex made a reservation for a wonderful Italian restaurant for their anniversary. Because of her surgery rotation, she didn't have her nails done and Alex knew better than to suggest she go get a manicure. After dinner, we walked through Rittenhouse Square Park on our way to (allegedly) meet friends to watch a basketball game. In the park, Meg stopped to take a selfie in the same place as one of our favorite pictures from 4 years prior - truly not knowing what was going to happen next! After Alex proposed, Meg's sisters came out from behind a pavilion with hugs, champagne, and fake nails for her to put on to show off the ring.
