We first met in the summer of 2019, at the most romantic place imaginable - Mt Lookout Tavern. Megan’s friend and bridesmaid (also named Megan) had been trying to introduce us, as she thought it would help her chances with my friend and groomsman, Max. Over a few drinks that neither of us needed at that point, we quickly hit it off, even finding out not long into our conversation that my parents and extended family were from the same area as Megan and her family, with our grandpas having farms within about a mile of each other. After hanging out a few times after that first night - and unintentionally seeing each other around as the other Megan and Max had started dating at that point (her master plan worked) - we continued to get to know each other over the next several months. Megan was the first one to make her feelings known and, on the last weekend before the world shut down due to Covid, I finally shared that I had similar feelings. Great timing. A few months later, after a lot of texting during the lockdowns, we began hanging out regularly. By the end of the summer, I had officially asked her to be my girlfriend! Over the next year or so, we spent a lot of time traveling back-and-forth between Oakley (where Megan lived) and Fort Thomas (where I lived), as well as trips up north to see our families. When I bought a house in the fall of 2021, we both knew it was only a matter of time before Megan officially moved in (she took over 90% of the bathroom space right away). In the following spring, it became official and we’ve been living together ever since, learning more and more about each other every day, annoying each other a little bit, and, most importantly, having a ton of fun along the way. In the spring of 2023, we went to visit Megan’s sister, Lauren, on a travel nurse assignment in Spokane, Washington. As Megan’s dad and I were on our own to visit an airplane museum, I asked for permission to propose. I didn’t have the ring yet, but I knew it was on the horizon if I got Megan’s dad’s blessing. Sure enough, he approved. Fast forward a few months and, on September 2, 2023, I got down on one knee at Megan’s parents’ place at Indian Lake. Among other things, Megan said yes! Since then, it’s been a whirlwind of planning and preparing for the big day! We can’t wait for you all to join us in celebrating what should be the best day of our lives!
