My aunt Carol would not stop talking to me about this “Megan” girl, she worked with her mom and she thought I needed to meet her. My sister, Haley tried to set us up one night, inviting Megan to the bar without me knowing. Megan didn’t show up that night. (Originally, Megan told my sister she never got the message but turns out she got cold feet and bailed- she hasn’t lived that one down yet) A few months went by and Haley made me a Tinder one night while we were sitting by the fire. You’ll never guess who the first girl to pop up was. After a bit of liquid encouragement I asked Megan out on a date. I picked her up, we went to dinner and drove around talking. The date went so well that just a few weeks later we were on vacation together in Florida for my birthday! (Our families like to joke and say it was a very extravagant second date) -Sam
We had just spent the afternoon at my parents house. My mom and I cooking while the boys were boiling in the sugar house. We ate dinner and enjoyed the afternoon with my family. On the way home, we stopped at Sam’s parents to say hello and grab Sam’s truck which he had left there that morning. I arrived home first and Sam pulled in shortly after. I grabbed my jacket and headed for his truck to help unload grain. We decided we would feed our cows and then go for a walk in the field right behind our house. (Not unusual for us, it’s one of my favorite places to be) Before our walk was over Sam stopped in the middle of our field, grabbed my hand, got down on one knee and said “I have a question for you” and the rest is history! -Megan
