Megan and Ford met in college at Christopher Newport University. Ford graduated with his Bachelors in 2017, and Megan graduated with her Bachelors in 2018. In March of 2017, Megan and her friends went over to Ford's senior year house to start celebrating one of her friend's birthday. After meeting Megan that night, Ford was smitten, and the two spent the next few months getting to know each other. Two weeks prior to his graduation he asked Megan to be his girlfriend. Ford's graduation celebration was a three week trip with a friend to backpack around Europe. It turned out to be great timing because Megan had already previously planned to study abroad in Spain for that summer. Coincidentally, Ford flew into Paris on the same weekend Megan and her classmates had planned a weekend in Paris. Ford also visited Megan in Sevilla, Spain later on the same trip. They both were extremely grateful that they had this experience so early in their relationship. From there it has been happy ever after!

To close up the wild year that was 2020, Ford decided that he wanted to ask Megan to be his Forever! After months of secret planning, Ford was able to create the best proposal (with a lot of help from friends and family) at Carter's Mountain Orchard in Charlottesville, VA. Since Autumn is Megan's favorite season of the year, Ford thought that the colorful scenery at Carter's Mountain would provide the perfect backdrop for the perfect proposal. A few of the previously requested items that were to be a part of the proposal were that her Sister was there, that some close friends were there, and that she was wearing a specific outfit. The hardest part was convincing her to wear her pre-approved outfit without her catching on... After getting all of the necessary parties to the location: Ford's Brother Will, Megan's Sister Erin, and a handful of other friends it was game time. He got a few of them to set up firefly lights, signs, and a picnic basket with Champagne and a hidden microphone in it beforehand and let him know when they were finished. After a few Bold Rocks from the cidery at the top it was time to propose. Ford guided her to a more private location at the venue between rows of apple trees where all of the decor was set up...on the way there Megan started to have a hunch about what was happening. After a few eager moments the couple made it to the spot. Ford got down to one knee and popped the question: "Megan, Will you make me the happiest man alive? Will you marry me?", to which, she said yes!!! This beautiful moment was captured on video and is forever memorialized. Once Ford popped the question, Erin, Jess, Will, and Cici jumped out from the bushes where they were hiding to surprise the couple, which left Megan speechless.
