We met when she interviewed me for a job! From the first time I spoke with Megan, I was drawn to her! After we met, I knew she was the person I was supposed to be with, I couldn’t explain it but I just knew. For the next 10 months, every time I would see her at work, I’d tell whoever I was working with “there goes my girl!” Outside of hanging out at the training day and Christmas party that year, I hardly knew her. But I knew she was my person!
The weekend Cody proposed, I could tell something was on his mind. On Saturday night, we went out to dinner at a restaurant neither of us had been to before. Dinner was great, but Cody was being kind of quiet and fidgety. On Sunday, we went for a drive on some backroads looking for a hunting spot. We stopped on a side road and there was a beautiful view of the sunset. Cody wanted to get out of the truck to glass for animals… meanwhile I’m wondering why we needed to leave the warm truck to stand in the cold to look through binoculars? But we got out… Cody was pacing around and I’m pretty sure he never even looked through the binoculars. I didn’t think too much of it and we drove home. After we got home, we were outside feeding horses. I was latching a gate and Cody asked “how much do you love me?” (which is usually followed by “will you do me a favor?”) I replied, “a lot, why?” and turned around to see Cody down on one knee! He asked me to marry him, right there in the mud, me in my coveralls and muck boots, surrounded by our dogs and horses. It couldn’t have been more perfect! Come to find out, the thing on his mind was the ring in his pocket!
