The night was April 7th, 2018, my roommate was venturing out west to Portland and we were having a going away party for her. We went out to the Battery which has a bunch of bars and restaurants near the Braves Baseball stadium. We ended up going to PBR/Live at the Battery. Up at the bar, I saw this man sitting alone watching something on his phone, great news there was a vacant bar stool next to him. I decided to approach him. "What are you watching?" I asked risking my heart and confidence all at once. He was watching a UFC fight Khabib vs Iaquinta. He had actually gone to 2 other bars hoping they would play the fight on the bar tv's. After striking out 3 times, he decided he would just sit down and watch it on his phone. We spent the entire night exchanging stories and laughs all while watching the UFC fights on his 5.8-inch screen, and just like that time was up. Then, He turned to me and asked when he could take me to dinner. Call me old fashion, but the level of respect he treated me with the entire night was inspiring. I decided to give him a chance. We planned on getting dinner the next night. Found out the next night that he had to reschedule on me, I was so petty haha I decided to show him I still would go and have fun at the sushi restaurant (which is hilarious cause now I know he absolutely hates seafood. Maybe that's why he wanted to reschedule). I ended up getting food poisoning that night from the sushi...haha Then two weeks later, we had our first date! Bartaco! He was so nervous, and so was I. Dating for 2 years went by , he proposed, and I said YASS!
My family was in town for Christmas, looking for a Christmas Activity to do. We decided we would go to the Historic Town of Dahlonega, which is my favorite during Holidays. Christmas Lights, Toy Shop, Chocolate Store, yes please. At this time, I was still working in Atlanta, so we decided that we would meet my family up in Dahlonega. Now keep in mind, I had a feeling that a proposal was in the works. When we arrived in Dahlonega, my family said they were at the Vintage town Toy Store with Alice, my niece. In Meagan's Head, "aww, adorable, he is going to ask me in a toy store, maybe hidden within the toys." But I was off on my judgement. Then I hear Dragan say, "Don't you want to go to the Chocolate Shop?". In Meagan's Head, "Aww cute a Chocolate Shop Proposal, Maybe I'll order chocolate and a ring will be with it." But I was off again. I started to think...oh no, am I completely off about this? Maybe he isn't proposing tonight. Then my mom said, "Meagan, lets go on a horse and carriage ride." In Meagan's Head, "There it is. A Horse and Carriage Ride Proposal, a little cliche, but I'm down with cliche for moments like these." On the way to the Horse and Carriage, of course me leading in excitement, Dragan said, "Hey babe, wait". I turned around and he was kneeling down to propose. He asked me, "Will you Marry Me?". I never thought I would cry in a moment like these, but joy overwhelmed me, and without a doubt, I said "YAS". Now my favorite part of the story is after the proposal. We decided we would walk around a bit and meet my family back at the house. I loved that walk, and will remember it for the rest of my life. We stumbled upon an Irish Pub, Shenanigans. It was perfect! We sat down, I soaked in all of it, there was a local artist performing, and there were signed dollar bills all over the bar. We had just one dollar bill left in the wallet. So we signed it and Dragan stapled it to the pub walls. Forever and Always. A Night to Remember.
