Meagan and Brandon met in May 2020 on Hinge during the early days of the covid-19 pandemic. After a few weeks of messaging, they agreed to meet at Meagan’s apartment in NoDa for their first date (apparently having learned nothing from the movie “taken”). With Meagan’s then roommate (now maid of honor) Andrea chaperoning from the adjacent room, they hit it off over pasta and wine, talking late into the evening. For their second date, Brandon cooked Japanese hotpot for Meagan in a house full of dogs, roommates, and their significant others. It was on this occasion that Meagan learned that Brandon does, in fact, clean. Supervised by Brandon’s roommate Joe working late into the evening from the foot of the table, they still found each other’s company enjoyable and made the most of it - another successful date. Given that things were going so well, they decided to make their relationship official and christened the occasion with a vocal performance from Meagan of “Black Horse in the Cherry Tree” by KT Tunstall. Despite any confusion that the song’s final lyric “you’re not the one for me” might conjure, they’ve been together ever since. From moving in together, to becoming engaged, and finally to be married, it would seem he is indeed the one for her.
