Brendan and Melissa met through mutual friends in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. They spent all night talking and dancing at Corked on Main Street. Brendan & Melissa played basketball together before she went back home to Pittsburgh, Brendan was very impressed by what he saw.

Brendan visited Melissa in Pittsburgh for the first time. First official date was at Bigham Tavern, a few blocks over from where Melissa lived at the time. Having talked on the phone nonstop all of December, they felt like they knew everything about each other.

Brendan and Melissa have a long-distance relationship during this time. Melissa would drive 5 hours to the Poconos on weekends and Brendan to Pittsburgh, sometimes meeting in the middle at State College.

Brendan and Melissa moved in together in Nazareth, Pennsylvania. Things seemed to be serious....

A year later, Brendan and Melissa traveled to Arizona and California. At Yosemite National Park, Brendan proposed to Melissa in front of his brother, Ian and his wife, Sarah. Melissa said, "Yes".
