Chris and I had been talking about getting engaged for a while and what kind of a wedding we would like. I mentioned at some point I would like a proposal that is just us and close to home. I added close to home since we were headed to California that November. Chris said OK and that it would happen before vacation. As a side note, something you don't do is give your girl a "will happen by date" because then she wonder all the time...Is it happening now??? Well, October comes around and Chris and I had been talking about going to the Disney Experience in Boston and he surprises that he got us tickets for the following week. (4 or 5 days before we leave for vacation) The night comes and I suspect it may be happening but also wasn't quite sure. We head into the city and go see the Make Way For Ducklings statues first then head to the Disney experience. When that was over, we had to pass back through the gardens to get to the restaurant. Once I realized Chris was leading me back towards the statues I knew what he was up to and anxiously waited the next 10 or so minutes for him to ask. I of course said yes and so here we are. We ended the night at the restaurant "Clink" which is an old jail! A few fun facts: 1. I LOVE ducks and Make Way For Ducklings. Growing up my grandparents would always read me that book and take me there with my brothers. Chris knew I loved ducks but learned this fact about me that night. So in my eyes he knocked it out of the park. 2. Chris told me after the fact he was paranoid about having the ring in his pocket the and kept his hand in his pocket most of the time until he proposed. I probably didn't notice or thought he was cold. 3. The ring had been in the house for about 2 months and I had no clue!
