Our story began nearly six years ago when we were both Juniors in high school, just sixteen years old. John Mac's life in Mooreville, MS revolved around high school sports and hanging out with his friends. Mine was much the same, though life in my small town of Tremont meant fewer people and even fewer things to do. One of my friends was Zack Summerford who had recently moved to Tremont from Mooreville. We had been in the same class for a while, when we both ended up working at Subway together. One day, Zack invited me to a New Years Eve party in Mooreville. I was nervous because I had never been to a party before, but after some convincing I decided to go. Little did I know - December 31, 2018- would be the night I would meet my future husband. Zack used to always mention his "old buddy John Mac" but I never had a face to go with the name. On the night of the party, I saw a handsome guy that came up and made small talk to me. He was very charming, and to my surprise, I learned this was the John Mac that Zack had talked so much about! No matter how much I liked him right away, I was 100% convinced that he was a player. I was not going to give him the satisfaction of knowing I was interested, so I played the reliable game of 'hard to get.' After weeks of giving him short responses and unanswered messages, he finally made a bold move and asked me on a real date. I nonchalantly agreed, but I was over the moon on the inside. I had never been on a real date before, and never expected him to be the one to ask me! Our first date was perfect - John Mac was the most respectful, sweet, gentleman who displayed real manners and treated me like a lady. Three months later, after many more dates, flowers, and surprises, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Nearly six years later I am just as head over heels about him as I was then. Marrying him will be my biggest blessing, and getting to grow old with him will be my greatest privilege! Heres to us and to a happy lifetime of sweet memories.
