We met through our job at Christmas in the Park. Our icebreaker was when McKenna had asked Jimmy for help with a broken zip tie, to which he quickly learned it was due to user error. Which still baffles Jimmy to this day. After the quick lesson in zip ties, we both wanted to learn more about each other. When Jimmy finally worked up the courage one day to ask McKenna out on a sushi date, she responded back "Hell no" and walked away. Not a fan of sushi, she walked away quickly realizing he was trying to ask her out. She quickly turned around to give him a second chance. We then decided on a small Yogurtland date, and the rest is history.

It was April 18, 2021, Jimmy had been asking McKenna to go on a hike to one of their favorite spots that overlooks all of the valley. McKenna was not excited about the hike and rather do other errands and stay home. Jimmy was persistent and kept asking to go for the hike. Reluctantly McKenna finally said yes to a walk at the Guadalupe Oak Grove Park. During the hike Jimmy stopped to tie his shoe, and by the time McKenna turned around and he was on one knee! And of course.... McKenna said YES!
