The night was December 7th 2014, it was freezing cold out and I (Sam) made the last minute decision to go to a house party across town with my roommate, Chastity. At approximately 1 AM, when we began our walk back from the party to our dorm, Chastity stopped right in front of Rusted Musket to say "hi" to our other roommates friend. As I turned around to join the group, I noticed Nick standing there and said "you look really familiar, did you live in Summit last year?". The conversation continued and we joined them inside while his friends waited for their food. On our walk back, Nick asked if we all wanted to come back to his apartment to hang out... Two things to note here: 1) I had no idea who this guy was and my momma taught me better than to go home with a stranger and 2) Nick was in an altered state of mind at this point but if you know him, you know he is very good at hiding it. I threw all caution to the wind and let out an enthusiastic "sure!". Once we got back to Nicks apartment, we started talking about things we had in common: our favorite animal, color, TV show, our middle names, our siblings names, etc,. Everyone there was in disbelief how everything was so similar. So shocking in fact, Nick actually proposed to me that very night with a purple pen cap. We all had a good laugh at how crazy this was and around 3 AM, started our journey home. Just as I was about to leave, Nick asked me for my number and even though I had a boyfriend at the time, I gave it to him (because how can you not after a guy proposes to you?). Like the gentleman he is (and also after recovering from his crippling hangover), he waited until the next day to text me. Can you guess what he said? "Hey it's Nick from last night! (aka your future husband)"
