We liked each other from the first swipe on Hinge. Josh was a deer in headlights at the Naughty Greek where we first met in person. While sitting and waiting, he saw Sophie try all the doors but the correct one. Despite our first date nerves, we shook our shaky hands and sat across from each other, asking as many questions as we possibly could, hardly giving any time between bites. After lunch, we met at Can-Can Wonderland, a recommendation from Josh's coworker. We went for the mini golf, but ended up walking around for an hour, playing arcade games and being like children. We got two beers and played bocce ball and kept the conversations alive and well. By the time we were ready to putt, reservations for the mini golf course had a three hour wait. We decided to try our hand at a course in the Mall of America. In a turn of events that would reflect our relationship well, we parked at opposite ends of the largest mall in the United States and traversed it to meet the other in their spot, only to find out we had each left out of eagerness to find the other. We found a course that was dark inside, but was painted to glow. We waited in a long line, warmed up enough to laugh and joke and tease. After Sophie won, we walked around the mall, long enough to lose count of how many times we circled it. We talked about life, faith, family, all the things that mattered to us. At the end of our night, we smiled and said our goodbyes. We thanked each other for an amazing time and went our separate ways, each to our own waiting family members. Neither of us could contain that day. We smiled so sweetly it was no secret what we felt.
She said yes.
