This was our first date! Great food and the best beer list in town specifically for Belgian Beers hard to find in the US. We went to the dive bar Konak's next door for karaoke after the date. Eric worked at an ice cream shop (recently closed) up the street in college. Konak's was the late night hangout spot for the ice cream shop staff and other industry folks in the neighborhood. Cheap Turkish beer and classic bar food. The nachos come on a silver platter. Our first apartment together was is only a few blocks away. The neighborhood Andersonville is our favorite in the city.
Great food and drinks. Stephanie Izard restaurant on the roof of The Hoxton hotel. Don't fall into the pool if you're catching the view on the balcony!
Dive dive dive bar across the street from The Second City Improv. All of their famous alumni have graced the bars hallowed hals. The walls are lined with portraits painted by the bars owner. A favorite of the late Anthony Bourdain.
Great restaurant on the East end of restaurant row. Group seating downstairs. Reservations not required, but it fills up quick so seek them out.
British pub with wonderful food in the artsy Southern neighborhood of Pilsen. Explore the Chinatown neighborhood next door (QXY Dumplings is a must).
If the weather is nice go off the beaten path to the classic Back of the Yards neighborhood to explore The Plant. Housed by an environmental collective pushing sustainability education and the Whiner Brewery. Grab some good beer and pizza if you want to escape downtown.
